New poem up on Poetic Logik

If you like poetry, check out a new poem on my poetry blog Poetic Logik https://poeticlogik.wordpress.com/2020/05/17/quarantine-prayer/ where I highlight the suffering of migrant labourers in India as they grapple with a mismanaged lockdown, the distress of Venezuelan migrant workers returning home on foot from neighbouring Latin American countries, those struggling for every breath because the coronavirus has intruded their respiratory system and families forced to bid their final goodbyes to dying loved ones by phone because COVID 19 has denied them intimacy, among other sadnesses humanity faces in a variety of cultural and political settings.

Here’s the first verse of the poem:

for them counting breaths
in strange seclusion, in
complex friendship
with oxygenating machines
